4 Household Products You Won't Believe Have Cleaning Abilities

Blog

When it comes to cleaning your home, you likely go for the sponge and all-purpose cleaner first, but there are many items already in your cupboards that have excellent cleaning abilities that you might not have thought of. If you have run out of your favorite commercial cleaning products, consider these different items.

Remove Grease With Salt

Regular table salt can be a godsend when it comes to certain cleaning tasks. Because it has a natural abrasive quality that doesn't scratch most surfaces, salt becomes an excellent way to remove tough stains, oil, and grease. Try using it inside your oven by sprinkling the salt on any built-up oil or grease and use a microfiber cloth or soft sponge to wipe the area clean. With enough salt on the grease, it helps to pick it up instead of spreading it around.

Erase Scuff Marks With Banana Peels

If you eat a lot of bananas, don't throw away the peels just yet! They might have some cleaning abilities if you have scuff marks on your silverware or leather furniture. Take a banana peel and remove any banana still inside the peel. Rub it lightly over scuff marks, then use a cloth to wipe the area clean. For items like leather shoes or furniture that are pricey and you don't want to cause more damage to, you might want to try the peel on a hidden area first before going at the scuff marks.

Clean Stains With Cream of Tartar

The cream of tartar you have at home isn't just for cooking; it can also be helpful when removing certain types of stains. It is great when removing stains from fabric items, such as stubborn clothing items with stains that commercial products aren't removing. You might also want to try it on your curtains or tablecloths. To use it, mix a small amount of the cream of tartar with some essential oil like lemon. Make a paste, apply it to the stain, then let it dry. Now wash it like normal and watch as the stain disappears.

Ketchup

Believe it or not, regular tomato ketchup can also be useful for cleaning. It is a great way to remove tarnish from your copper items, such as copper silverware, kitchen utensils, or cups. Either use ketchup straight out of the bottle on your tarnish, or try making a paste once again with the cream of tartar. Leaving this paste on the copper is better at removing the tarnish. Wash it away with dish soap, then rinse it with water. Let the copper items dry completely.

Learning About Cleaning Services For Offices

Hi everyone, my name is Sandy. Welcome to my site about cleaning services. After starting my own company, I decided to rent out an office downtown. The office space was relatively small but still incredibly difficult to keep clean. I was spending at least an hour a night wiping down everything, taking out the trash and putting items back where they belong. I elected to hire a cleaning service to take care of all those tasks and more. I will use this site to talk more about the cleaning services I received and their benefits. Thanks for your time.
