Avoid These Common Mistakes When Cleaning Your Office

Blog

If you own a business, you might decide that you want to keep the office clean on your own. Unfortunately, when you are in charge of cleaning it yourself, it often leads to some common mistakes. Here are some mistakes to try and avoid so that you can have a clean and disinfected office.

You Clean the Windows on the Wrong Day

When you are cleaning the windows, either inside or outside the windows, you need to make sure you don't clean them on a hot or sunny day. When it is too sunny, the window cleaner can dry prematurely, which tends to cause spots on the windows. It is best to wait until there is a cloudy day and preferably wash the windows early in the morning or in the evening. When cleaning the windows, it can help to use a squeegee instead of trying to use paper towels or newspaper.

Failing to Clean Electronics and Computer Equipment

Another common mistake people often make when cleaning their office is assuming that the computers, printers, and other electronic equipment doesn't need to be cleaned. It can sometimes be difficult knowing how to properly clean them, assuming cleaning products would destroy them. However, you need to remove the dust from your expensive equipment on a regular basis. If you don't, the dust builds up and can actually cause the equipment to malfunction. Using something as simple as a microfiber cloth to remove dust from the equipment can make a big difference.

Not Cleaning the Carpets Properly

People who don't have professional cleaning experience sometimes try to remove stains from the office carpeting, but do it all wrong. One of the most important things to remember when cleaning carpeting or rugs is that rubbing the stain is only worsening it. You are causing the liquid to absorb more into the carpet fibers, thus making it more difficult to remove. Instead of rubbing it, you want to use a blotting or dabbing motion. Do this with a dry towel, rotating as needed to continue picking up whatever spilled. This works for many types of office stains, from spilling printer ink to dropping a cup of coffee on the ground.

It is highly recommended that instead of making these and other mistakes, you hire a professional cleaning services company. You can schedule them to clean the office as often as you feel is necessary and not have to worry about keeping the office clean on your own.

Learning About Cleaning Services For Offices

Hi everyone, my name is Sandy. Welcome to my site about cleaning services. After starting my own company, I decided to rent out an office downtown. The office space was relatively small but still incredibly difficult to keep clean. I was spending at least an hour a night wiping down everything, taking out the trash and putting items back where they belong. I elected to hire a cleaning service to take care of all those tasks and more. I will use this site to talk more about the cleaning services I received and their benefits. Thanks for your time.
