Cleaning The Grout On Your Floors

If you have tile and grout flooring throughout some of the areas in your home, then you probably know how much harder that grout is to keep clean then the tiles are. When you mop the tiles, they will get clean. However, when you look at the grout, you will start to notice that it continues to get darker and darker, no matter how much time you spend mopping the floor. This is due to the fact that the grout is set in the spaces of the tile, so the grout sinks lower, and it has an abrasive surface to it.

The grouts abrasive surface makes girt and grime stick to the grout. When it comes to cleaning the grout in large areas, you may put off the job because you know how much space there is for you to cover and this means it is not going to be a simple job you can complete in a few minutes of time. However, there are some easy ways you can go about cleaning the grout, and you can learn about some of them here.

Use a steam cleaner

An easy way to clean grout that isn't too stubborn is to use a steam cleaner. When you use a steam cleaner on the grout, you will be using a green method to clean the grout because no harsh chemicals will be needed. All you have to do is to put distilled water in the unit and make sure you attach a brush to the end that is going to fit down into the grout. Turn on the steamer and work in small sections, starting at one corner of the room working your way across to the other corner, then move down to the next row. In most cases, you will find that the steam cleaner will do a great job. However, if you have stubborn areas, then you want to move on to another method.

Use a homemade solution

Make a note to yourself of where the stained areas are as you go along. This way, you won't forget any. You are going to make a solution that consists of one part water to two parts baking soda. Put a generous amount of this solution on all of the problem grout areas and allow it to sit overnight. In the morning, fill a bucket with hot water and grab a stiff nylon brush. Dip the brush in the bucket and scrub the areas clean. Once you have gone over all of them, you can use the steamer once more to make sure the grout is as clean as possible.

Learning About Cleaning Services For Offices

Hi everyone, my name is Sandy. Welcome to my site about cleaning services. After starting my own company, I decided to rent out an office downtown. The office space was relatively small but still incredibly difficult to keep clean. I was spending at least an hour a night wiping down everything, taking out the trash and putting items back where they belong. I elected to hire a cleaning service to take care of all those tasks and more. I will use this site to talk more about the cleaning services I received and their benefits. Thanks for your time.
